  • Exploratory laparotomies with biopsies; pancreatectomy for insulinoma
  • Correction of other congenital defects such as diagnosis and treatment of ectopic ureter, colposuspension for intrapelvic bladder
  • Reconstructive surgeries for extensive tumour removals such as maxillectomy, orbitectomy, nosectomy. Thoracic wall mass excision and chest wall reconstruction. Includes creation of axial pattern flaps and subdermal plexus flaps
  • Intrathoracic surgery such as lung lobectomy (for lung tumors, bullae and blebs), thoracic duct ligation for idiopathic chylothorax, thymoma excision
  • Upper airway correction in brachycephalic dogs eg. pugs, bulldogs
  • Extraluminal ring prostheses for cervical tracheal collapse; endoluminal tracheal stents for intrathoracic tracheal collapse
  • Head and neck surgery including arytenoid lateralization surgery for laryngeal paralysis, thyroidectomy for thyroid adenoma and thyroid carcinoma as well as total ear canal ablation / bulla osteotomy for end-stage or neoplastic ear canal disease
  • Urogenital surgery including perineal and scrotal urethrostomies

  • LVS are proud to say that all our patients are monitored by fully qualified Australian-trained veterinarians. Each case has a dedicated anaesthetic veterinarian whose role is to take care of your pet's anaesthetic needs. The patient's progress is charted from the moment they are induced until they are fully awake. Blood pressure, heart rate, heart rhythm, temperature and expired carbon dioxide levels are monitored throughout the procedure.
